Febuary 28th 2008 --

Stellaluna [ [link] [link] (On the right), [link] and [link] ] has been hospitalized.

She is severely dehydrated.
Yellow skin.
She has thick puss in her eyes.
She hasn't eaten in days.
No body mass.
Lethargic.
Low core temperature.
Abnormal breath sounds.
Stuffy nose.
Fluid in her belly.
Tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS.
Family still mourns Claude. His remains [Picked up on the 27th] now reside on top of our TV in a beautiful cedar and gold box, complete with a lock and key. He rests next to Grandpa. Rest in Peace. This has been an awful month.

Febuary 29th 2008 --

Stellaluna's first stay in the hospital. Administered an IV and antibiotics. X-rays are taken, nothing conclusive is found. Blood tests show no abnormal liver, kidney, heart, or other organ functions. Possible abdomensintesis (Needle placed in her belly to examine the fluid within) done. No solid evidence of her sickness is found. Ate food that night (Solid food) for the first time in many moons.

March 1st 2008 --

Went and visited Luna in the hospital. She didn't eat that morning. IV is working, as she is much more hydrated. Eyes aren't as inflamed. Much more alert but still a bit cool and lethargic. At the sound of my voice she began kneading, purring and talking. Tried to get up and walk away. Seeing her lifted my spirits as I had a rough night worrying. Vets and techs are giving her excellent care. She seems sad and misses us. We miss her, too.

Will update you when I know more. Please keep her in your thoughts. I'm hoping and wishing for the best. We are scheduled to get an update tomorrow, as the vet is closed to patients. I will be visiting her on Monday.

All photos and such will be delayed until I feel better. Maybe I'll go out tomorrow and try to snap some pictures of something, weather permitting. It'll help distract me.
